A magical red book was found one day by a kid on a pile of snow。 She looked through it and found pictures of a whole new world。 She also found one of the pictures of a boy and was intrigued。 Another boy also found a red book on a beach in a pile of sand。 He found the same thing as the girl but instead he found a picture of a girl。 It seems to be a picture of both kids。 Soon in the book, the red book takes the young girl to the boy to experience a new world waiting for her。 At the end of the book A magical red book was found one day by a kid on a pile of snow。 She looked through it and found pictures of a whole new world。 She also found one of the pictures of a boy and was intrigued。 Another boy also found a red book on a beach in a pile of sand。 He found the same thing as the girl but instead he found a picture of a girl。 It seems to be a picture of both kids。 Soon in the book, the red book takes the young girl to the boy to experience a new world waiting for her。 At the end of the book, a new boy on a bike find the red book and it was left at that。 I like how mysterious this book was and I hope that I can find a red book that will take me someplace nice。 。。。more

This book silently speaks to me of the concept of “oneness”。 The illustrations offer the reader a journey through different lives from different places but brought together through a little red book。

I think this book has a very precious meaning behind it although it was kind of strange at first。 This is a book I believe could have a fun activity for the children to create a written story to the illustrations。

Part of the Read Aloud Treasury: On her way to school, a young girl sees the cover of a red book sticking out of a snowdrift; the inside reveals pictures of a boy who finds a red book in the sand。 This story within a story will prompt a closer look and great conversations。 I’m thinking of using it at the high school level when we discuss the lives of refugees and consider other people’s cultures and perspectives。

To me, this book will always be a sad memory。 I first heard of it while watching the Korean series Thirty-nine。 It was a nice yet Sorrowful series。

Fun kids' book without words, though you'd probably have to be about six before you really understood it: there are like three layers of "meta" going on, making the concept unattainable for my three-year-old。 Fun kids' book without words, though you'd probably have to be about six before you really understood it: there are like three layers of "meta" going on, making the concept unattainable for my three-year-old。 。。。more

This is a book that incudes a little girl that finds a red book on her way to school and picks it up and starts looking at it。 As she does this, she sees illustrations of a boy on a beach who finds a red book in the sand, opens it, and flips through the pages just like she did。 After looking at it for a few moments, the boy and girl realize they are actually looking at each other。 This is a fun and engaging book for children to read!

The Red Book is brilliantly creative; a beautiful story for book lovers of all ages told in 36 wordless pages。 The Illustrations are stunning in their simplicity。 What a great gift for any young child! I stumbled upon a Goodreads list of almost 400 wordless picture books and I look forward to reading a couple to wind down before bed。 I will only review those that I think are worthy of 5*。

This was a really cool picture book。 It's easy to see why it was awarded the Caldecott。 Without text, the illustrations tell a magical story about a book as well as the magic of books。 This is a great option for inspiring creativity in young readers and I think adults would really appreciate it as well。 This was a really cool picture book。 It's easy to see why it was awarded the Caldecott。 Without text, the illustrations tell a magical story about a book as well as the magic of books。 This is a great option for inspiring creativity in young readers and I think adults would really appreciate it as well。 。。。more

This book is about a little girl and who picks up a book in the city on the way to school and she finds something really odd about the book。 She just keeps looking thru the book to see if she just might be imagining something and she keep seeing the same thing。 She notices that there is a child that looks right at her when you open the book。 The book is a wordless book so you can make any story up in your head but when you first open the book the author uses a lot of imagery。 Throughout the book This book is about a little girl and who picks up a book in the city on the way to school and she finds something really odd about the book。 She just keeps looking thru the book to see if she just might be imagining something and she keep seeing the same thing。 She notices that there is a child that looks right at her when you open the book。 The book is a wordless book so you can make any story up in your head but when you first open the book the author uses a lot of imagery。 Throughout the book there is many images that capture the readers attention, the title is The Red Book so that explains the reason for the book cover to be red。 As soon as you open the book you see that there is a huge picture that goes throughout both pages of the city。 The book uses the images to set a tone of suspense and confusion, the images that are shown in the book are the same actions that she is doing with another girl。 The book has two purposes, The first one is a lesson that is shown to us which is a story of friendship and the second purpose is to create odd and confusing events in the book to make it more interesting。 Connections that I can make to the story would be enjoying the mysterious that goes on towards the end of the book。 。。。more

The Red Book by Barbara Lehman is a wordless picture book about a young girl who finds a red book in the snow and a young boy who finds a red book in the sand。 The boy is lonely on the island while the girl comes across a man on the street selling balloons。 She buys as many balloons as she can hold to take her up and away to a special destination。The pictures are very simple and plain, bordered by blank beige backgrounds on each page which is unexpected for a book of only pictures。 The pictures The Red Book by Barbara Lehman is a wordless picture book about a young girl who finds a red book in the snow and a young boy who finds a red book in the sand。 The boy is lonely on the island while the girl comes across a man on the street selling balloons。 She buys as many balloons as she can hold to take her up and away to a special destination。The pictures are very simple and plain, bordered by blank beige backgrounds on each page which is unexpected for a book of only pictures。 The pictures are confusing in the beginning of the story for what they are trying to say to the reader, leaving plenty of room for the reader to use their imagination。 The author creates depth and movement of the story through changing perspectives from the boy and the girl and different angles of what is happening。 The story was not moving to me as a reader, and maybe that is because I don’t have a childlike imagination but it seemed boring。 The beginning was slightly chaotic and it felt as if it went beginning to end in a very fast and easy way without a detailed storyline。 。。。more

Barbara Lehman’s book, The Red Book, lets the reader use their own imagination to tell the story of the little girl that finds a red book on her way to school。 As she goes through the book’s pages she sees a little boy that lives on an Island and also finds a red book in the sand。 When he opens the book he can see the girl in her classroom, the girl is surprised and at the end of class she finds a way to reach the boy in the book。 The illustrations are curvy for all the characters and some surro Barbara Lehman’s book, The Red Book, lets the reader use their own imagination to tell the story of the little girl that finds a red book on her way to school。 As she goes through the book’s pages she sees a little boy that lives on an Island and also finds a red book in the sand。 When he opens the book he can see the girl in her classroom, the girl is surprised and at the end of class she finds a way to reach the boy in the book。 The illustrations are curvy for all the characters and some surroundings of where the girl and boy are at。 The book includes frames throughout the story guiding the reader as to how the story should be read。 This is a good book to have on children’s shelves, it gives them the opportunity of creating their own little story just by looking at the drawings of the book。 It has a simple and enchanting plot。 。。。more

Modern fantasyPre-K-2nd grade reading levelThis was a sweet book! Its whole premise is that it has no words, and I think the author handled it well。 I could clearly understand the progression of the story, and it was simple enough that a young child could as well。 I was relatively unmoved by it - I wouldn't say I enjoyed it particularly much, but I think it could be a good book to read to a group of young children。 It would encourage them to see for themselves what the story was and would perhap Modern fantasyPre-K-2nd grade reading levelThis was a sweet book! Spectacular use of perspective to tell a meta story within a story (within。。。 etc etc)。 Bold lines and bright colors accentuate the tale。I glanced at this one because Barbara Lehman's partner is Sylvie Kantorovitz's, whose memoir I just read。 They have a similar style。 I complimented Kantorovitz's economy of language。 Maybe she got that from her partner, who created this wordless masterwork。 Spectacular use of perspective to tell a meta story within a story (within。。。 etc etc)。 Bold lines and bright colors accentuate the tale。I glanced at this one because Barbara Lehman's partner is Sylvie Kantorovitz's, whose memoir I just read。 They have a similar style。 I complimented Kantorovitz's economy of language。 Maybe she got that from her partner, who created this wordless masterwork。 。。。more
